This Privacy Policy explains how Threadline, available at https://talk.thejazzroomcontinential.co (the “Service”), collects, uses, stores, and shares information. Threadline is operated by Hugo (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account using an email address and password, we may collect your display name, email address, securely hashed password, and account creation date. We do not store your password in readable form.

Google sign-in information

When you sign in using Google, we may receive your Google account identifier, display name, email address, and email-verification status when Google provides it. We use this information to create and authenticate your Threadline account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Content and activity

We collect information you choose to provide through the Service, including:

• Posts and comments
• Communities you create
• Upvotes and downvotes
• Other interactions with the Service

Posts, comments, display names, communities, and vote totals may be visible to other users and the public.

Technical information

Our hosting provider and application systems may automatically process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, request times, error logs, and security or diagnostic information.

Cookies and authentication tokens

Threadline uses cookies or similar browser storage to keep users signed in, complete Google authentication, secure account sessions, and help prevent unauthorized access.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and manage accounts
• Display posts, comments, communities, and votes
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Detect spam, fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Enforce our Terms of Service
• Investigate technical problems
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use Google account information for advertising.

3. Public Information

Threadline is a public forum. Information you post may be viewed, copied, quoted, indexed, shared, or otherwise used by other people. Do not post private, confidential, sensitive, or identifying information that you do not want publicly available.

Deleting content may remove it from active display, but copies may remain temporarily in backups, logs, caches, screenshots, search engines, or content previously copied by other users.

4. How We Share Information

Service providers

We use third-party providers to operate Threadline, including:

• Netlify, for website hosting and serverless functions
• Aiven, for managed MySQL database hosting
• Google, when a user chooses Google sign-in

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.

Public forum activity

Your display name, posts, comments, communities, vote totals, and related activity may be publicly visible. Your email address is not intended to be publicly displayed by Threadline.

Legal and safety reasons

We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect users, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms, or protect the Service.

5. Sale and Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not currently use personal information for targeted advertising on Threadline.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as the account remains active or as reasonably necessary to operate the Service. Posts, comments, votes, and communities may remain until deleted by a user or removed by us.

Certain records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement, or backup and disaster recovery.

7. Account and Data Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting getthejobdonthefirst@gmail.com .

We may require verification that you own the account before completing a request. Account deletion may remove or anonymize associated content, but limited records may be retained where permitted or required.

8. Google User Data

Information received from Google is used only for account creation, sign-in, account identification, and security. You may revoke Threadline’s access through your Google Account settings or contact us to request deletion of information associated with your Threadline account.

9. Information Security

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information, including HTTPS, encrypted database connections, hashed passwords, restricted credentials, authentication cookies, and access controls.

No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Use a unique and strong password and do not share your login credentials.

10. Children’s Privacy

Threadline is intended for people who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that information was collected from a child under 13, we may delete the account and associated information. A parent or guardian may contact us using the email address below.

11. International Processing

Threadline is operated in the United States. Service providers may process or store information in the United States or other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

Threadline may contain links to external services. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third-party websites.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.
